Getting started

Why does Edgely need Apple Health?

Edgely works out your Recovery, Strain and Sleep from what Apple Health already records: heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, breathing rate, wrist temperature and blood oxygen. Everything is calculated on your iPhone. You can change what Edgely reads at any time in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Edgely.

My scores show "No data yet" or dashes

Recovery needs a night of sleep recorded with an Apple Watch, and compares you with your own history, so it's marked as calibrating for the first couple of weeks. Wear your Watch to bed and check that Edgely has permission for heart rate, heart rate variability and sleep in the Health settings above.

Why is Recovery still showing yesterday?

A day's Recovery starts when your sleep ends, not at midnight. Until last night's sleep has synced from your Watch (or until midday), Home shows yesterday's Recovery, marked "Yesterday".

Do I need an Apple Watch?

Strength logging, runs with your iPhone's GPS, plans and most data points work with just an iPhone. Recovery, overnight vitals and sleep stages need an Apple Watch worn at night, and swimming needs one to record.

Workouts

Do my workouts appear in Apple Health and Fitness?

Yes. Edgely saves every workout it records to Apple Health, with heart rate, calories, distance and routes, just as Apple's Workout app does. They count towards your Activity rings.

How do I record on Apple Watch?

Open Edgely on your Watch, or choose "Record on Apple Watch" when starting a workout on your iPhone. The workout shows live on your iPhone while you train, and the Watch saves it.

My treadmill distance doesn't match the machine

When you end a treadmill run, enter the distance the machine shows. Edgely saves it and uses it to calibrate future treadmill runs.

The app closed during a workout

Edgely saves your workout as you go. Open the app again and it picks up where you left off.

Account and data

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works on your iPhone without one. An account backs up what you create in Edgely (workouts, routines, plans, settings) so it comes back on a new iPhone.

How do I export or delete my data?

Go to Settings › Account. Export My Data saves everything as one file. Delete Account removes your account and everything stored with it on our servers. Data on your iPhone and in Apple Health stays.

What happens to my data when I sign out?

Edgely backs up any unsent changes, then removes your synced data from the iPhone. It stays with your account and comes back when you sign in. Apple Health data isn't affected.

Is my health data private?

Your Apple Health data stays on your iPhone. Health data only leaves it if you turn on health backup or the cloud coach. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Subscriptions

How do I cancel or manage Edgely Pro?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
